Brum Pro Class with Polly Hudson

I have been working in dance for over three decades and the unifying centrality of my practice is embodiment, and how we inhabit ourselves fully with rigour, and with gentleness. My work is characterised by the notion of being with: being with our inner and outer landscapes simultaneously, and being with the more-than-human.

My practice engages with process in artistic making, embodied approaches to teaching and leadership, and EcoSomatics, with recent attention to working class women’s labours of the body and on the land, and a current focus on grief and trauma. I have made performance and screendance works that have been shown in the UK and across the world to critical acclaim, though much of most recent practice is now shared through expanded writing.
