Become a Member

Becoming a co-op member means you are part of Dance Co-operative Birmingham.

Membership perks include; 35% discount on pro classes/workshops (see Events for more info on what's coming up), access to free studio space at Dance Hub Birmingham, Voting Rights and access to our Borrow Box resource.

The membership structures a listed in 3 columns, Option 1 is in orange, Option 2 is in purple and the Drop-in option is in a green-blue.

Continued Professional Development (CPD)

 Our CPD will be delivered in 3 strands;

- Business Development

- Accessible Practices

- Creative Practice

Co-op members receive 35% discount on all CPD workshops. 

Voting Rights

​

Co-op members will have access to Voting Rights and direct decision making due to the nature of how co-operatives are run. 

By joining, you will be invited to member meetings and have the opportunity to make your voice heard and have your vote counted. One member = one vote.

​

This is a unique way of working that enables us to be Member Owned, Artist-led.

The Borrow Box 

​

​

Access to resources is one of our 3 main aims. We feel that in order to create a thriving landscape for artists, the resources we use need to accessible and sustainable.  

​

Members can opt in to lend items to fellow members via the Borrow Box. The database is self-run by members lending items between each other. For example - if you need a tripod, sensory props, portable ballet barres, camera for a self tape - these items may be available to borrow. 

​

Click MENU, then Borrow Box Resource, then read the Terms of Use and you will have access to the database of items.

How to Join: 

STEP 1 -

Click MENU, then Become a member and scroll down to the Join Us button. This will take you to the Application Form. Complete the form and one of the team will get back to you asap.  

STEP 2- 

To access your membership perks, you'll need to set up a direct debit. Click Menu, then choose your plan. Enter the password that we will have sent to you. Select your membership option. This will ask you to log into your Members Portal.

Click Sign up to register for the Members Portal. Your request will be verified by us. Once verified, you can set up your direct debit. 

STEP 3-

Once your direct debit is set up and you're logged into the Members Portal, you will have access to your membership perks: ​

  • Book tickets to Co-op pro classes and CPD workshops with your 35% discount- click MENU, then EVENTS.

  • Book free studio space (if you have an Option 2 membership). Click MENU, then STUDIO BOOKING. 

  • Access the Borrow Box database. Click MENU, then BORROW BOX RESOURCE.

For future access to the Members Portal, click 'Log In' (to the left of the MENU button) and use the password you created.
